About me
Welcome to massage4u. I’m Andy Batters, a Massage Therapist, based at The Massage Room @ Fitness First Thomas More Square, London, E1.
I originally trained at The London College of Massage (LCM) and hold their Diploma in Therapeutic Massage and Advanced Diploma in Remedial Massage.
From an early age, I had an interest in health, medicine and wellbeing, which led to me studying for a degree in Pharmacology. In 1997, I went along to
After qualifying, I continued studying massage by taking postgraduate workshops and additional courses. In 2007, I began to study Traditional Thai Yoga Massage at Quantum Metta School of Massage and went on to qualify as and Advanced Practitioner of Traditional Thai Yoga Massage.
I am also trained in sports massage, hot stone massage and on-site seated chair massage, as well being a Level 3 Reiki Master. In addition to practising massage, I teach introductory massage workshops at Central London YMCA and teach on workshops and the Traditional Thai Yoga Massage practitioner’s diploma course at Quantum Metta.
Clients regularly tell me that I that give the best massage they’ve ever had and I always aim to give my clients the very best massage I possibly can. If you fancy a great massage, you can find my contact details below.

Massage Services

Traditional Thai massage
Traditional Thai Massage or Traditional Thai Yoga Massage is my favourite form of massage, both to give and to receive. It combines acupressure massage with the beautiful stretches of yoga. The aim of the treatment is restoring balance to the body, allowing the body to engage its natural healing abilities.
I practice Northern style Traditional Thai Massage. The treatments are at least 90 minutes long and performed on a mat on the floor. There is no oil used and the massage is performed over clothes. At the end of the session you’ll feel both deeply relaxed and highly energised.

Sports & Remedial massage
Sports & remedial massages are used to address specific musculoskeletal conditions. The first treatment session will include a thorough assessment, to determine the likely cause of the issue and we’ll agree a treatment plan based on what comes up in the assessment.
The techniques used in sports & remedial massage can be used to treat both recent and long-standing conditions. (And the condition doesn’t have to be sport related). For a first session, I usually recommend at least 45 minutes to allow for the assessment and treatment.

Classic / Holistic massage
When many people think of massage, it usually classic or holistic massage treatment that comes to mind. As a tool for healing, massage one of the oldest. The earliest reference recorded was before 2500BC, in the Nei Ching which is a Chinese medical text.
Massage may be found to bring relief from everyday aches, reduce stress, increase relaxation, address feelings of anxiety and tension, and aid general wellness. All my treatments are customised so that the massage techniques are chosen and applied specifically to meet the needs of my clients.

Hot Stone massage
Hot stones warmed by the fire were used by Native Americans to treat aching muscles. Today, you can enjoy the benefits of hot stones while you relax in a massage. The stones used are Basalt river rocks which over time were tumbled around by the river’s current. As a result, the stones become smooth.
The hot stones are oiled and rubbed over the skin using classic massage strokes. Sometimes, the stones are left to rest to allow the heat to penetrate deeper into the muscles. The treatment is very relaxing and great for soothing stiff muscles.

On-site chair massage
On-site massage is a great way to bring the benefits of massage to the workplace and events. It is a short (10 to 30 minutes) massage. There’s no oil and clients sit fully clothed in portable massage chair.
The treatment is based on a traditional Japanese acupressure massage called ANMA, which uses pressures and rubbing motions. These are applied to areas of the head, neck, shoulders, back, arms and hands to stimulate the muscles, nervous system and circulatory system.
If you want me to provide on-site massage at your workplace or at a special event, just get in touch.
